Wir suchen einen talentierten und ehrgeizigen Data Scientist (f/m/d), der sich darauf freut, bei der Entwicklung von medizinischen KI-Lösungen für Dermatologie mitzuwirken, um Ärzte und Patienten bei der Behandlung von chronisch-entzündlichen Hauterkrankungen zu unterstützen. Du wirst einem kleinen, schnell agierenden KI-Team beitreten, das eng mit dem Produktmanagement, Entwicklern, Daten-Annotatoren und medizinischen Experten zusammenarbeitet.

Deine Aufgaben

Konzipiere, trainiere und evaluiere Computer Vision-Modelle für die medizinische Bildanalyse unter Nutzung von strukturierten und visuellen Daten (PyTorch).
Verwaltung und Organisation von Datensätzen und Experimenten (DVC, FiftyOne, MLflow).
Implementierung von Methoden zur Erklärbarkeit und Unsicherheitsabschätzung.
Dokumentation der Modellentwicklungsschritte, Datenquellen und Evaluationsverfahren im Einklang mit den Qualitäts- und Regulierungsstandards für Medizinprodukte.
Mitwirkung an der Standardisierung und Automatisierung von Trainings‑ und Validierungsprozessen.
Datenvorverarbeitung, -augmentation und Qualitätssicherung in Zusammenarbeit mit Daten-Annotatoren und medizinischen Beratern
Arbeite mit Front-/Back-End-Entwicklern zusammen, um KI-Modelle in Produkt-Workflows zu integrieren.
Agiere funktionsübergreifend innerhalb der Teams für KI, Produkt und Business und präsentiere die Ergebnisse technischen und nicht-technischen Stakeholdern.

Dein Profil

Abschluss in Informatik, KI/ML, Biomedizintechnik, Statistik oder einem verwandten Bereich.
2+ Jahre Berufserfahrung in der praktischen Entwicklung von ML- und Computer Vision-Modellen.
Fundierte Kenntnisse in Python und Frameworks wie PyTorch (Lightning) und OpenCV.
Starke Fähigkeiten im Umgang mit Daten (NumPy, Pandas usw.).
Idealerweise Erfahrung mit Docker, FastAPI.
Tiefes Verständnis von Deep-Learning-Grundlagen, Metriken und Evaluierungsmethoden.
Interesse an der Weiterentwicklung in Richtung multimodaler KI und LLM-basierter Anwendungen.
Analytisches Denken und die Fähigkeit, strukturiert und fokussiert zu arbeiten.
Ausgezeichnete Kommunikationsfähigkeiten und Interesse an medizinischen Anwendungen.
Du sprichst fließend Deutsch oder Englisch.

Description

We are looking for a talented and ambitious Data Scientist (f/m/d) who’s excited to join us in developing real-world medical AI for dermatology - to support doctors and patients in the management of inflammatory skin conditions. You’ll join a small, fast-moving AI team, working closely with product management, engineers, data annotators and medical experts.

Your mission

Design, train, and evaluate computer vision models for medical image analysis, blending vision and structured data when relevant (PyTorch).
Maintain organized datasets and experiment tracking (DVC, FiftyOne, MLflow).
Implement explainability and uncertainty estimation techniques.
Document model development steps, data sources, and evaluation procedures in line with medical product quality and regulatory standards.
Contribute to standardization and automation of model training and validation processes.
Perform data preprocessing, augmentation, and quality control in collaboration with data annotators and medical advisors.
Collaborate with front-/back-end engineers to integrate AI models into product workflows.
Work cross-functionally within the AI, product and business teams and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your profile

Degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Biomedical Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
2+ years of professional hands-on experience in machine learning / computer vision model development.
Proficiency with Python and frameworks such as PyTorch (Lightning) and OpenCV.
Strong data handling skills (NumPy, Pandas, etc.).
Ideally, experience with Docker, FastAPI.
Solid understanding of deep learning fundamentals, metrics, and evaluation methods.
Interest in expanding into multi-modal AI or LLM-based applications.
Analytical mindset and the ability to work in a structured and focused manner.
Excellent communication skills and curiosity about medical applications.
You speak German or English fluently.
